Rochester Mason City Austin, MN, November 4, 2026 — The Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) men’s basketball team has commenced its 2026-27 season with a strong start, achieving a 2-0 win-loss record in the early stages of play.

The team secured these initial victories at the Riverland Classic, an event held in Austin, Minnesota. RCTC’s victories came against two opponents: Sisseton-Whapeton and Minnesota North College-Vermilion.

This early success marks a notable beginning for the RCTC men’s basketball program as it looks to build momentum throughout the season. The team’s objective this year is to rebound and improve upon the performance of its previous season, which was described as difficult.

Further details regarding the specific scores of the games, key player performances, or the coaching staff were not provided in the available summary. The team’s schedule and progress beyond these initial games will be closely watched as they work toward their season goals.
