Patented Active Turn combines lever-operated turning motors, synchronized front-wheel drive and one-handed steering input in a compact cordless mower.
LOUISVILLE, KY, UNITED STATES, October 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — YARD FORCE showcased its 58V REVO cordless lawn mower at Equip Exposition 2026, combining zero-turn maneuverability with patented Active Turn powered steering in a compact, self-propelled walk-behind design. The innovation integrates lever-operated turning motors, synchronized front-wheel drive and one-handed directional input to help users navigate trees, landscaped borders and tight lawn corners. A handle-mounted control display, adjustable travel and cutting speeds, and electric mulching-to-bagging selection extend the mower’s emphasis on direct operator control.
REVO’s innovation centers on the way the operator commands and completes a turn. Its self-propelled drive assists travel, while Active Turn adds motor assistance to directional changes. The combination brings active zero-turn control into an 18-inch cordless mower designed for residential lawn maintenance.
The patented system uses an intuitive pull-to-turn input. Operators lift the left or right steering lever on the control panel to engage the turning motors. Front-wheel drive synchronization helps coordinate the machine’s movement into the selected direction. The operator provides the steering command, while the powered system assists the turn.
The steering assistance is initiated through the controls and delivered by the motors. This gives Active Turn a specific operating function beyond the maneuverability provided by freely swiveling caster wheels: it supplies powered assistance in response to a left or right command. The resulting control approach is the principal innovation highlighted in the REVO presentation.
One-handed steering input is a central part of the design. Directional commands are made at the handle, allowing the operator to request a left or right turn without relying solely on physical force to redirect the mower. This brings the steering controls into the same operating area as the machine’s other electronic adjustments.
The intended benefit is particularly relevant around trees, flower beds, curved lawn borders and confined corners. These areas require frequent changes in direction, even when the main lawn can be cut in straight passes. Active Turn is designed to reduce the effort required to initiate and guide those turns, helping the operator navigate more intricate sections of the garden.
For the outdoor power equipment (OPE) sector, REVO’s development focus is the integration of active directional control into a compact cordless rotary mower. Its steering levers, turning motors and synchronized front-wheel drive form the core of that approach. The supporting electronic controls extend the same emphasis on direct operator input to walking pace, cutting speed and clipping management.
For retailers and distributors, this is a feature that can be demonstrated through the machine’s response to a steering command. Product demonstrations can show how a lever initiates a powered turn and how the assistance works alongside self-propelled travel. That gives buyers a specific operating feature to evaluate, in addition to battery voltage, cutting width and other conventional specifications.
The Active Turn-equipped REVO configuration extends its emphasis on control to other parts of the mowing process. A handle-mounted Pro Screen display is paired with variable walking speed, variable cutting speed and an electric mulching-to-bagging switch. These features bring steering, pace and grass-handling adjustments together at the operator’s position.
Variable walking speed allows users to select a travel pace suited to their preference and the area being mowed. That adjustment is useful when moving between an open section of lawn and a more confined area requiring closer attention. Variable cutting speed provides a separate adjustment for the cutting system, allowing operators to change the setting as lawn conditions and maintenance requirements change.
The electric mulching-to-bagging switch adds flexibility in managing grass clippings. Mulching returns cut material to the lawn, while bagging collects it for removal. Electronic mode selection gives users a way to choose the clipping-management approach that suits the task. A 2-bushel grass bag supports collection work.
The mower pairs these operating features with an 18-inch cutting width and seven cutting-height settings spanning 1.25 to 4 inches. The height range accommodates different preferences for the lawn’s finished appearance, while the cutting width provides a defined working path for routine residential maintenance. The Active Turn configuration is listed for lawn areas of approximately one-quarter to three-quarters of an acre.
Power comes from a 58V, 5.0 Ah lithium battery working with a brushless motor. Reference specifications list a 5.0 A charger and a charging time of approximately 60 minutes. The specified no-load cutting-speed range is 3,200 to 3,500 rpm. Battery power removes the need for a power cord across the lawn or gasoline refueling during use.
The reference specification also lists 60 minutes of no-load operation. This figure describes operation without a cutting load; actual mowing runtime depends on grass height and density, selected settings, terrain, battery condition and other operating factors.
The Active Turn version has a polymer cutting deck, 8-inch front wheels and 10-inch rear wheels, with a listed net weight of 66 pounds. A foldable handle supports storage after use. These details complement the steering and electronic controls in a product designed around the full mowing routine, from maneuvering and cutting to clipping collection and storage.
Following the mower’s exhibition debut, YARD FORCE plans to broaden the 58V REVO range with four handheld categories: a blower, chainsaw, hedge trimmer and string trimmer. These products represent planned extensions beyond the mower presented in Louisville. Their preliminary specifications list 58V, 5 Ah lithium battery configurations and brushless motors across all four categories.
The planned YF58VRX-BL blower will extend the range into leaf and debris clearing. Its specified maximum air speed is 200 mph, with a maximum air volume of 900 cubic feet per minute. Variable speed settings will allow users to adjust output for different clearing tasks, from gathering loose leaves to moving debris across open areas. The combination of air speed, air volume and adjustable output provides several ways to match the tool to the job.
The planned YF58VRX18-CS chainsaw will add branch and wood-cutting capability. Its preliminary specification includes an 18-inch guide bar and a chain speed of 66 feet per second, approximately 20 meters per second. The brushless design extends the REVO offering into a different cutting application, complementing lawn maintenance with a tool for managing suitable branches and wood around the property.
For hedge shaping and shrub maintenance, the planned YF58VRX-HT hedge trimmer features a 24.5-inch cutting length and a specified maximum cutting diameter of 1.25 inches. Three speed settings, a soft-grip handle and an electric brake are also listed. The cutting length supports work along hedge faces and tops, while speed selection gives operators an adjustment for different trimming tasks.
The planned YF58VRX18-LT string trimmer will address lawn edges and areas requiring more targeted cutting. Its preliminary specification lists a 16-inch cutting width and a maximum no-load speed of 5,500 rpm. A soft grip, automatic cutting-line release and speed adjustment are included in the listed features. The tool is intended to complement the mower around borders, fences and other areas where a walk-behind cutting deck may have limited access.
Together, the planned additions would extend REVO from lawn mowing into trimming, hedge maintenance, wood cutting and garden cleanup. For retail and distribution partners, that creates the prospect of a wider product assortment covering complementary tasks throughout the property. The mower remains the focus of the Equip Exposition presentation, with patented Active Turn technology providing its principal point of innovation.
