Gray Media to Broadcast 15 Minnesota Timberwolves Games Over-the-Air

Rochester Mason City Austin, MN, October 9, 2026 — Gray Media will broadcast 15 Minnesota Timberwolves basketball games free of charge over-the-air, making them accessible to a wider audience in several markets. This initiative is set to commence on October 28.

The broadcast deal will primarily feature games aired on the North Star Sports & Entertainment Network. Viewers in the Rochester area, along with other communities across Minnesota and Wisconsin, will be able to watch these select Timberwolves matchups without a subscription. The specific selection of 15 games to be broadcast was not detailed in the announcement.

This move by Gray Media aims to expand the reach of Timberwolves games, offering free over-the-air access. This approach differs from traditional cable or streaming broadcasts that often require subscription fees. The North Star Sports & Entertainment Network will serve as the main platform for these transmissions.

The partnership highlights an effort to connect with local fan bases in the Timberwolves’ home state and surrounding regions. Fans looking to catch these games will need to ensure their televisions are capable of receiving over-the-air broadcasts and are tuned to the appropriate frequencies for the North Star Sports & Entertainment Network in their respective viewing areas.

The broadcast schedule is slated to begin on October 28, marking the start of a new viewing option for basketball enthusiasts in the designated markets. Further details regarding which specific games will be included in the 15-game package are expected to be released closer to the start date.
